Credits: 10 ECTS (each module)

Total learning hours: 250 hours (each module)

Contact hours: Approximately 80 hours  (each module)

Academic level: Foundation (basic level for first year undergraduate students)

(Level: relative difficulty, complexity, depth of study and autonomy required of a learner).

Aims of the module: 

To provide Chiropractic students in their first year of study with that knowledge of the gross anatomy and physiology of the human body (and especially musculoskeletal biology) to enable them to understand the structural and functional basis of their subsequent clinical practice.

Time commitment for each module (academic session 2009/10):

  • approximately 6 hours teaching per week (over 13 weeks)
  • office hours for students 2 hours per week (over 13 weeks)
  • preparation in advance of teaching sessions
  • preparation of draft assessments and marking
  • attendance at Exam Committees and staff-development sessions (approximately 20 hours in the year)
