Aims of the
module:
To provide Chiropractic students in their first
year of study with that knowledge of biochemistry to enable them to develop
their understanding and knowledge of pharmacology and nutrition later in the
course.
To provide Chiropractic students with
sufficient knowledge of connective tissue biology to underpin their
understanding of musculoskeletal biology and clinical conditions.
Time commitment
(academic session 2009/10):
- approximately
3 hours teaching per week (over 13 weeks)
- office
hours for students 1 hours per week (over 13 weeks)
- preparation
in advance of teaching sessions
- preparation
of draft assessments and marking
- attendance
at Exam Committees and staff-development sessions (approximately 20 hours
in the year)
